An influx of new residential options near Avondale Estates’ quaint downtown is continuing with a batch of townhomes by a national homebuilder that's taking shape on a tucked-away site.
Toll Brothers officials say a project called Henley should start delivering next summer at a 3039 Wells Street parcel near Avondale Estates’ eastern border that’s been an empty field for years. Construction started earlier this year.
The site is located less than a mile south of Your DeKalb Farmers Market. Avondale Estates’ downtown restaurants and shops begin about 1/3 of a mile in the other direction.
The townhomes will front a curving section of the Stone Mountain Trail, a multi-use trail the PATH Foundation began installing as a connection between downtown Atlanta and the DeKalb County tourist attraction in the 1990s.
The location is being marketed as both quiet and conveniently close to downtown Decatur.
A Toll Brothers rep tells Urbanize Atlanta the Henley will include 33 townhomes designed (naturally) to be low-maintenance. They’ll be zoned for Avondale Elementary, Druid Hills Middle, and Druid Hills High schools.
Two floorplans will be offered, both with about 2,137 square feet. Expect three bedrooms, three and ½ bathrooms, and two-car garages with each option, per the project rep.
The range of townhome prices wasn't disclosed.
“These spacious home designs offer flexibility for any lifestyle,” reads the Henley spiel, “while sophisticated finishes provide the comforts of luxury.”
