Landing somewhere between hotel rooms and larger, plusher apartments, variations on the flex-living concept have popped up recently in Atlanta from downtown to West Midtown and, soon, at the doorstep of Ponce City Market.
That more flexible take on traditional renting has now made its way to Sandy Springs.
WaterWalk, which bills itself as a lodging industry innovator, has completed the first renovation in company history for its fourth U.S. property debut of 2023.
That property, WaterWalk Atlanta – Perimeter Center, was previously called Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, meeting the very definition of nondescript extended-stay accommodations. It’s located just OTP in Sandy Springs, west of Ga. Highway 400 and north of Hammond Parkway.
WaterWalk Atlanta offers 128 renovated rooms total—89 of them furnished, the other 39 more like traditional, unfurnished apartments.
The location, per company reps, is “set in the heart of Sandy Springs’ business center,” and the concept allows guests “the best blend of an upscale extended-stay hotel and a place to call home with spacious units that can be personalized.”
Rates are subject to daily fluctuations, but project reps recently told Urbanize Atlanta starting rates at Sandy Springs’ WaterWalk are $119 nightly for a studio; $129 for a one-bedroom; and $169 for a two-bedroom loft.
Conversely, the unfurnished, one-bedroom options start at $1,550 monthly, and two-bedroom rentals start at $1,850.
Those monthly rates, it should be noted, include all utilities and appliances, plus 24/7 desk service.
In its previous state, the complex was in need of “strategic upcycling,” per WaterWalk officials. Have a closer look at how that turned out in the gallery above.
