The latest infill project to replace an intown Atlanta church is fully underway on a corner in Reynoldstown.

Dubbed “Gemini,” the development calls for two separate duplexes to rise at the northwest corner of Gibson and Cummings streets, as Alpharetta-based homebuilders Kashi Custom Homes tell Urbanize Atlanta.

The corner lot is situated a block east of the Beltline’s Southeast Trail (formerly Eastside Trail) corridor and a major mixed-use redevelopment being put together by The Allen Morris Company, the Florida-based developer of Star Metals District in West Midtown. The growing Stein Steel district is a block to the north.

The site was the former longtime home of Morning Star Baptist Church, which has relocated to a new facility on Columbia Drive in Decatur, continuing a trend of Atlanta churches selling property and moving as intown land becomes increasingly scarce—and more valuable.

According to Dar Kashi, chief builder and owner of Kashi Custom Homes, one of four units at the Gemini project has already sold, though vertical construction has yet to begin.

The building facing Gibson Street, called “Castor,” will be smaller, with each duplex unit counting just shy of 3,000 square feet, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms, with a two-car garage. Designs call for another 832 square feet of exterior space.

Prices for those units are listed at $1.5 million each.

Meanwhile, along east-west Cummings Street, the larger “Pollux” building will have units with four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and a half-bath in 3,105 square feet of finished space. An unfinished basement with 10-foot ceilings and more than 1,800 square feet, in addition to 868 square feet of exterior space, is included with those options.

The one available unit at Pollux is asking $1.75 million.

All three remaining units include a $100,000 design or closing-costs credit during pre-sale through the builder, according to Kashi.

Beyond walkability, perks of the build will include a focus on energy-efficiency, per Kashi, along with Sub-Zero refrigerators, Wolf appliances, and Bell cabinetry.

Elsewhere, “suburban amenities” include oversized garages capable of fitting four vehicles, per marketing materials.

All four units at the Gemini project are slated to deliver next year, per marketing materials. The development team also includes Rainshadow Permaculture (landscaping), Gotsch Studio (architecture), and Seabrook Design (interiors).

According to Fulton County property records, the .23-acre former church property sold for $1,350,000 in May 2025.
