The latest batch of townhomes to pop up in Reynoldstown near Memorial Drive now has an official name—and a physical presence along Moreland Avenue.
Atlanta-based JackBilt Development is building a 16-unit townhome project now titled Madison Park, replacing a vacant Reynoldstown church and parking lot at 183 Moreland Avenue.
At roughly a half-acre, the site is just north of Memorial Drive, near the northwest corner of Moreland Avenue and Arkwright Place. The new Eastside Trolley Trail, a multi-use PATH Foundation project between (almost) the BeltLine and Kirkwood, neighbors the new townhomes.
Madison Park’s floorplans show three and four-story options with three bedrooms and two and ½ bathrooms atop two-car garages.
Allen Snow, an Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty associate broker representing the townhomes, said prices haven’t been finalized yet as the project’s marketing hasn’t officially begun. The range of Madison Park square footages also wasn’t available this week.

Madison Park will join a sister, 18-townhome JackBilt project in the works a couple of blocks away on Memorial Drive. That’s a total of 34 new residences in two different neighborhoods, joining several other eastside townhome ventures by the same company.
As of 2018, the Moreland Avenue property was operating as Refreshing Word Fellowship Church of Atlanta and adjacent parking. Prior to demolition last summer, it had been vacant for several years.
Zillow records indicate the church property sold in May 2021 for $1.68 million. (Proxima Development had planned to build townhomes there but backed out.) According to a LoopNet listing, the two-story church building dated to 1924 and once housed Abundant Living International World Ministries, too.
The property was rezoned to allow for mixed residential and commercial uses with a larger floor-area ratio in 2020. A previous condition stipulated the church building could only be used as an antique shop, but that was removed.
The Madison Park project continues Atlanta’s trend of repurposing or demolishing outdated or derelict church properties for more housing.

Meanwhile, around the corner on Memorial Drive, JackBilt’s site work continues on vacant land at 1237 Memorial Drive. That .8-acre site is just east of Moreland Avenue in Edgewood, along the south side of Memorial, where plans call for 18 townhomes, also designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture.
According to plans provided by Edgewood zoning leaders to Urbanize Atlanta, 10 of those units will have rooftop decks, and those facing north will have porches overlooking Memorial Drive, partially buffered from the road by trees. Each will have a two-car garage.
