Following a year and ½ of demolition and construction, a pocket of upscale new townhomes has started coming to market near two of Southwest Atlanta’s biggest drivers for investment.

Phase one of the GW Parkside project in West End has entered the “finishing touches” stage of development, with landscaping and interior buildouts on tap for 13 of a planned 23 total townhomes on site, sales officials recently relayed. 

The site is adjacent to the Beltline’s original Westside Trail, just north of the Lee + White district. 

The first two units to reach the market are asking $750,000 and $800,000, respectively, as listed in recent days with Lauren Strenke of Watkinsville-based Great Foundations.

In both cases, that buys three bedrooms and four bathrooms in 2,700 square feet, spread across four stories, according to listings. (Another consideration is HOA fees listed at $300 per month for each townhome.) 

Both GW Parkside townhomes mark the priciest home offerings on the market in West End at the moment. 

Base levels include two-car garages, a bedroom and full bathroom, while each townhome is topped with rooftop terraces with Bison decking systems, covered pergolas, and space for custom bars, per listings. 

Plans for the 600 Hopkins St. development, which is being built by Lee + White owner Ackerman & Co., also call for a fenced-in dog park. 

The site is also across the street from Gordon-White Park, which inspired the project’s name.

The properties in question were formerly home to two businesses: Best Friends Car Wash, which doubled as an outdoor art gallery for muralists, and Lean Draft House, once celebrated as the first new business to open on the Westside Trail.
