For whatever reason, Adams Park lacks the notoriety of fellow Southwest Atlanta neighborhoods such as West End and Westview, despite its historic bona fides and attractive housing stock that wouldn’t be out of place in East Atlanta (updated ranches) or Virginia-Highland (stately Tudors).
A compelling example of the latter—at roughly 60 percent of the Va-Hi price, give or take—was recently submitted via the tip line.
Situated on almost a half-acre about five miles southwest of downtown, or three miles from an entrance to the BeltLine’s Westside Trail, this Tudor bungalow was built in 1937 with all the brick-boned sturdiness of the era and architectural perkiness for which the style is known.
Dwell Well and Hadley Ventures renovated the three-bedroom, two-bathroom property with a goal of keeping historic charms intact, listing it last week for $485,000.
It’s not the neighborhood’s priciest listing at the moment, but it’s top three. (Larger, new-construction dwellings in Adams Park have traded for as high as $549,000 in recent months.)
Beyond a very green yard that’s rather immense by ITP standards, which helps boost a sense of privacy, the 1,728-square-foot home counts granite countertops, an original fireplace, and handsome hardwoods throughout most rooms.
Additional highlights include a partially finished but functional basement, a screened porch off one side of the home, and a detached two-car garage beyond the spacious patio.
“This one won't last,” the listing predicts. We shall see.
