Billed as being where “luxury meets affordability,” the next phase of an eastside project designed to open an easier pathway to homeownership is coming to market.
Vertical construction recently began on phase two of the Trust at East Lake, an infill venture developed by The Atlanta Land Trust and DaVinci Development Collaborative in the 600 and 700 block of Fayetteville Road. It’s rising on previously vacant land in DeKalb County, just south of Glenwood Avenue and East Lake’s Publix Super Market. East Lake Golf Club’s main entrance is about a mile from the site.
Trust at East Lake units, marketed at townhomes, count two bedrooms and one and ½ bathrooms across two stories.
Current units clock in at a bit over 1,200 square feet each, according to Eric Kronberg, founder of Kronberg Urbanists + Architects, the project’s architect.

The most recent new Trust at East Lake home to come to market is asking $269,000, as listed last week with HomeSmart.
“This community is redefining what’s possible for affordable luxury living,” reads marketing materials. “Step inside and fall in love with the contemporary farmhouse design, flooded with natural light and featuring an open floorplan perfect for modern living.”
According to Kronberg, the project’s second phase will see six buildings (12 total units), in a duplex cottage court layout. Fortas Homes is building the second phase, as with phase one. The project calls for 40 for-sale townhome units overall.
Officials with Atlanta Land Trust, East Lake Foundation, and the Tour Championship (part of the PGA Tour held annually at East Lake Golf Club) hosted the community’s initial groundbreaking in March 2023. The project was made feasible by a 2-acre land donation from The CF Foundation, a nonprofit that’s led revitalization efforts in East Lake for 30 years, alongside the East Lake Foundation.
In-home perks include shaker-style cabinetry, spacious kitchens, and solid-surface countertops, while the community counts EV-ready charging stations, bike racks, greenspaces, and “a charming community gazebo,” according to listings.

Sales at Trust at East Lake are open to the general public, but income limits are set for buyers earning at or below 120 percent of the Area Median Income. (Units are also reserved for owner-occupants, not renters.)
Beyond that, the Community Land Trust model works as follows:
One two-bedroom unit from the project’s initial phase is also for sale at the moment, asking $285,000 following a recent price cut.
The East Lake townhomes are one of several projects Atlanta Land Trust is moving forward as a means of mitigating gentrification as housing prices climb in the city. With affordable housing ventures in Oakland City, Grove Park, Pittsburgh, and along the Beltline, Atlanta Land Trust hopes to create 300 residences that are both permanently affordable and energy-efficient by the end of 2027, officials have said.
