A drastic residential makeover continues to barrel ahead on Old Fourth Ward’s East Avenue, a street that’s been swept up in Atlanta’s modern movement like few others intown.
A block from Historic Fourth Ward Park, with Ponce City Market just down the hill, the dead-end thoroughfare is a mix of modest brick cottages, newer houses in the Craftsman vein, and large contemporary dwellings—some by top Atlanta firms and none of them inexpensive.
The latest modern listing to join the fray is a duplex at 675 East Avenue by Brookhaven-based WilliamMark Designs. The front unit, per the sellers, is already under contract, while the back half is asking $1.15 million for four bedrooms in 2,700 square feet. (That’s $425 per square foot.)

It joins eight active listings in Old Fourth Ward at the moment for houses or townhomes seeking north of $1 million. They top out at nearly $1.5 million for a three-bedroom resale at Studioplex.
According to the Solid Source Realty listing, the East Avenue project is in early phases and remains customizable, with completion expected this fall. There’s a roof deck up top (kitchen upgrades are extra), four and a half bathrooms, a two-car garage, a fenced yard, and no HOA fees. It’s “designed for an elevator that we can install for you right away, or you can save it for later and have three large additional closets!” notes the listing.
An LLC purchased a 1940s home on the .18-acre site for $450,000 in June, property records show. The 83 WalkScore qualifies here as “very walkable.”
