North of Atlanta, a unique node of A-frame modern cabins is in the works that's aiming to capitalize on surging interest in the North Georgia Mountains from as far away as the Sunshine State, according to project leaders.

Billed as a “modern micro-community in the Blue Ridge Mountains,” the North Creek project is now accepting lot reservations for seven planned A-frame houses on a wooded site, located about 10 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge.

The seven tucked-away lots in question—ranging from an acre and ½ to 2.7 acres—are situated along the North Creek waterway and Ga. Highway 60, a scenic link between Blue Ridge and downtown Dahlonega.

The gated community’s goal is to create treehouse vibes with modern amenities, and to opt “for larger lots instead of closer neighbors” with properties that are friendly to short-term rentals, according to a promotional website.

All seven “ultra-luxury” homes will span roughly 3,000 square feet, offering between three and five bedrooms, with walls of glass, “luxury siding,” and metal roofing designed to cut down on maintenance and boost forest and creek views.

Planned amenities call for a common area with staffed community gardens, plus a working farm with goat houses and chicken coops—yeehaw.

According to sales reps with Engel & Völkers North Georgia Mountains, prices at North Creek start at $1.3 million for a variety of floorplans. Extras such as garages, hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, pools, and other packages can be added on, sales officials tell Urbanize Atlanta.

Construction of North Creek homes is expected to take a year between groundbreaking and move-in.

The North Georgia Mountains area, according to Engel & Völkers, has emerged as one of the hottest destinations for second-home and investment properties in the Southeast, notching more than 25 sales north of $3 million over the past year alone.

“We continue to see buyer demand extending from Florida and beyond, for new construction and resale,” said Chris Burell, Engel & Völkers North Georgia Mountains managing broker, in a recent market recap. “While many firms are hesitating on new development amid shifting market conditions, our team has leaned into this momentum, strategically aligning with builders and developers who know how to navigate today’s complexities.”
