In a part of Atlanta that blends quiet residential streets with industrial uses, a for-sale, infill townhome project has started coming to market with price points its sellers call less expensive alternatives to renting. 

Situated at 1568 Northwest Drive, the South City Towns venture by national homebuilder Ryan Homes is claiming a formerly wooded lot just outside the Interstate 285 loop—or what marketing materials describe as “Upper Westside, Atlanta.”  

The location off Bolton Road, in the pint-sized English Park neighborhood, is about seven miles due south of The Battery Atlanta, and roughly four miles west of the city’s largest park. 

The townhomes, all standing three stories, are described as a modern blend of ample space, convenient location, and low-maintenance living in “one of Atlanta's most connected and up-and-coming areas.” 

The first South City Towns offerings are asking $329,990 and $334,990, as listed with Jessica Petrea of Jason Nelson Real Estate.

In both cases, that buys two bedrooms and two and ½ bathrooms in 2,198 square feet—hardly a shoebox, as new ATL townhomes go these days. (Monthly HOA fees for each floorplan are listed at a relatively manageable $112, too.) 

The project’s website indicates a smaller option (1,370 square feet) will be offered, with prices starting at $319,900. The standard two-car garages can also be modified for one vehicle to increase interior space, per Ryan Homes. 

Interior perks include quartz countertops, contemporary kitchens, and flex spaces in some cases well-suited for home gyms or offices.

However convenient, the location is mostly a drive-everywhere lifestyle, as illustrated by the Walk Score (eight of 100), Bike Score (eight), and Transit Score (12).
