The Trilith community, located next to one of North America’s largest movie studios, is now sporting an art mural that could remind Marvel fans of Black Panther and Atlantans of the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail.

Officials with Trilith in Fayetteville say an expansive piece recently completed by Brandon Sadler is the largest in Georgia. It envelopes the new Town Stage at Trilith, one component of the 235-acre, master-planned mini city that’s billed as a haven for artists and filmmakers, about 30 miles south of Atlanta.

Sadler, an Atlanta native, has been enlivening intown walls under the artist moniker “Rising Red Lotus” for years.

The monochromatic mural at Trilith, dubbed “Cosmic Intelligence Exchange,” covers 18,000 square feet around three walls of the building. It echoes Sadler’s work on elements of Wakanda sequences in Black Panther, which was partially filmed on location at Trilith (then called Pinewood Studios) and went on to become North America’s highest grossing superhero flick in history.

Other Black Panther scenes were filmed across metro Atlanta, from downtown to Norcross.

Trilith reps say the mural is a nod to the Marvel smash, Black History Month, and the project’s overall commitment to the arts.

So far, Trilith's mixed-use facet has completed about 160 homes and other facilities, with 15 restaurants, a cinema, and some 3,000 residents eventually expected.

Meanwhile, movie and television productions have ramped back up at the growing Trilith Studios next door.

Encompassing 18 soundstages, offices, and workshops across nearly 1,000 acres, it’s considered North America’s second largest film and TV facility.

In recent years, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War were all filmed there.
