Whether you love Midtown Atlanta to pieces or loathe everything about it, here’s your chance to speak up and see your opinions put into action.
Once every three years, Midtown Alliance distributes a wide-ranging survey that touches on virtually all aspects of the subdistrict for residents, workers, and leisurely visitors, ranging from public safety, the food scene, greenspaces, transportation, general urban design, and other topics.
The 2025 Midtown Community Survey—now officially live—is no different.
But this year, the survey also asks Atlantans a very specific question regarding vacant land development: What exactly should replace the gaping, 4-acre hole in Midtown’s urban fabric where the No2 Opus Place skyscraper didn’t happen? (Last month, the Midtown Improvement District’s Board of Directors revealed they’re under contract to buy the long-languishing site to create a signature public space—and optimistic pandemonium among ATL urbanists ensued.)
“Think of [the 14th Street parcel] as a park in the center of the district,” reads the survey, “but with a more active use for events and ties to Midtown’s identity as Atlanta’s heart of the arts… What would make you say ‘wow’ when you enter?”
According to Midtown Alliance, the survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. (Our test-run took 12 minutes, but we tend to get wordy.)
The survey’s results will help determine which public improvement projects Midtown Alliance will prioritize next, helping set the direction for Midtown in general, per the agency.
Results of the survey will be shared this summer.
Keep in mind, “Midtown” in this case refers only to the sliver that is the Midtown Improvement District, as illustrated below.
