A recognizable hotel tower where Midtown meets downtown Atlanta is set to receive a fresh face and rebranding before Atlanta’s next shot at one of the world’s great sporting events.

A real estate investment team consisting of Monomoy Property Ventures and Axonic Capital has purchased the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown at 590 W. Peachtree St., situated on a block that’s part of the Midtown Improvement District.

Monomoy and Atlanta-based architecture firm Cooper Carry are set to lead a “significant renovation” that will transform the property into The Marriott Atlanta, a flagship under the Marriott Hotels brand, officials announced today. A dollar amount for the renovation plans wasn’t specified.

Today, the hotel property features 462 guest rooms described by Marriott as “oversized” (20 percent of them are suites with kitchenettes) along with 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

As part of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, The Marriott Atlanta will include fully renovated rooms and suites, a new M Club Lounge, modernized meeting areas and public spaces, upgraded venues for events, and other changes, per officials.

According to its new ownership, construction on the Midtown tower is scheduled to start in late 2026. The reopening is planned for late 2027, months ahead of Atlanta’s Super Bowl LXII in February 2028.

Schulte Hospitality Group, a Kentucky-based company, has been selected to manage the Marriott property. Beyond The Benz, Marriott cites Georgia Tech, Emory Hospital, and downtown as nearby attractions.

Monomoy is a real estate investment firm specializing in high-value hospitality and mixed-use assets, while Axonic is a real estate-focused investment manager.
