A key cog in the continued revitalization of historic downtown Lawrenceville is entering the homestretch of construction.
A Hilton Tapestry Collection property called The Lawrence Hotel has started accepting reservations in the heart of Gwinnett County’s growing county seat, home to roughly 33,000 residents and counting.
Located at 120 E. Crogan St., the 120-room The Lawrence is described by project officials as “highly anticipated” and the “first-ever upscale, boutique, full-service hotel” in the downtown area.
Booking dates begin Aug. 28, and room rates currently start at $168 per night.

The NorthPointe Hospitality Management and Development project will feature industrial-inspired interiors as a nod to Lawrenceville’s past. Designs also call for a central courtyard, intended for social gatherings and programming, and more than 2,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor event space.
Two onsite food-and-beverage offerings will include open-air cocktail bar and lounge Old Nick’s and the property’s signature restaurant, a Mediterranean-meets-Southern concept called Bellfire.
Situated up the street from the hotel, the $45-million Lawrenceville Performing Arts Center, home of the Aurora Theatre, debuted in 2021.
Elsewhere, several large-scale residential and mixed-use ventures—including the 600-plus-unit SouthLawn project—have taken shape within blocks of downtown Lawrenceville in recent years, helping the historic section’s retail and food-and-beverage scene blossom.

Hotel officials cite Georgia Gwinnett College and Northside Hospital Gwinnett as other nearby attractions in the area.
“The [hotel’s] opening reflects a larger story unfolding in Lawrenceville,” reads promotional preview, “where a revitalized downtown, growing culinary scene, performing arts investment, and increasing visitor demand are transforming the city into a rising leisure and meetings destination within the Southeast.”
