Intown Atlanta’s current wave of retail openings extends beyond the streets of downtown.
For Krog District, a mixed-use hub straddling the Beltline’s Eastside Trail in Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward, what’s forecasted to be a busy season of debuts chockfull of fresh food options, new stores, and live music kicked off this week.
Here’s a rundown:
South-African chicken restaurant Nando’s PERi-PERi hosted a grand opening Tuesday, taking over the former Bar Mercado space in Krog Street Market (next to Superica).
The restaurant—known for its spicy PERi-PERi, the Bird’s Eye chili pepper, along with a distinct flame-grilled flavor—debuted in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa and has spread to 24 countries on five continents. Nando’s entered the U.S. market in 2008 (Washington, D.C.) and counts nearly 50 restaurants in and around Virginia, Maryland, Washington, Chicago, Texas, and now Georgia.

In coming weeks, the creators of Westside Motor Lounge in English Avenue will open a large-scale, pop-up concept called LikeMinds in the massive former BrewDog space at The Krog District.
Officials say LikeMinds will open sometime later this month. No more specific outlook has been provided.
Exactly how long it will operate is also TBD. A project rep recently told Urbanize Atlanta: "LikeMinds holds the lease through the end of the year. As the concept approaches 120 days [a trial period], it will assess and potentially continue on based on several factors."
LikeMinds will offer live music, a range of activations and programming, and a rotating list of food and beverage options from local restaurants and brands. Complementing that will be billiards and bar games, alongside an upgraded audio-visual setup for watching sports.
The new concept is led by Kelly Campbell of Westside Motor Lounge, with contributions from Southern Culinary & Creative, Smith’s Olde Bar, Frazie’s Meat & Market, Bunker Design, and other Atlanta-based partners. It’ll be open seven days a week.
Adjacent to the Beltline’s ever-popular Eastside Trail, LikeMinds will claim the full 14,700-square-foot space (that includes 2,700 square feet of patios) suddenly vacated by BrewDog in March.

Last but not least, Eggslut (in Old Fourth Ward, technically) plans to open its second Atlanta location sometime this fall at Krog District. It’s claiming space facing the Eastside Trail in retail row SPX Alley, next to dog bakery and groomer Woof Gang.
Eggslut is an international chain described as “a chef-driven, gourmet food concept inspired by a true love for eggs,” offering “classic comfort fare with a twist” and partnerships with local bakeries in each city to ensure freshly baked bread.
This city’s first Eggslut operates at the new Moxy Atlanta Downtown hotel.

Charlotte-based developer Asana Partners completed construction on The Krog District in early 2023, replacing a gravel parking lot and industrial buildings with more retail, office, and parking options around Krog Street Market, an Atlanta food hall pioneer.
The district also includes adaptive-reuse Atlanta Stove Works and townhome-retail combo SPX Alley.
