The metamorphosis of a humdrum Central Perimeter office park into an urban-style, transit-connected node is entering a new phase, developers report this week.
It’s happening at what used to be called Peachtree Dunwoody Pavilion, a 1970s suburban-style complex located just Inside the Perimeter on Lake Hearn, a small body of water across Interstate 285 from Concourse’s King and Queen towers.
Atlanta-based developers The Simpson Organization, who have rechristened the 20-acre, mixed-use property "Altmore," relay that the three-pronged first phase is finished.
That included a six-story parking deck featuring a pedestrian connection to MARTA’s Medical Center station next door, plus a 3,500-square-foot restaurant space with rooftop patio seating along Peachtree Dunwoody Road.
A nine-story Hyatt House hotel delivered as part of phase one and is now open. And a new artery—Altmore Avenue, an interior road and multiuse trail—is also open to link the project together.
Up next in phase two is a MARTA-connected office tower and “village” of four restaurant spaces, ranging between 2,500 and 8,000 square feet, with an emphasis on lake views and rooftop hangouts.
Gil Hearn, The Simpson Organization’s senior vice president, said the overarching goal with Altmore is to capitalize on “the foundation that began 25 years ago with the construction of MARTA” and create “an amenitized, transit-oriented hub for the area, creating a true urban environment unlike anything the market ever experienced,” per a statement released today.
