After years of rumors in other Atlanta locations, a fitness concept synonymous with luxury lifestyles is finally planting its first flag in Georgia.

New York City-based Equinox has leased a 44,000-square-foot, ground-level space at Buckhead Village next to fashion retailer COS, along the south side of the district near Pharr Road, according to property owners Jamestown.

Equinox Buckhead is being created in partnership with New York-based design firm Goodrich. Plans call for the sizable space to be “inspired by the city surroundings” and “grounded in its Buckhead setting,” with “clean forms, natural materials, rich textures, and carefully considered details [that] bring a sense of residential comfort while maintaining refined, understated elegance,” according to an announcement today.

Equinox’s first location in the Peach State is scheduled to open in 2027. The fitness company was founded in 1991 and now counts more than 100 global locations.

The Atlanta outpost will mark Equinox’s seventh in the Southeast, following a recent West Palm Beach opening. Florida counts five clubs overall, and another operates in Nashville.

Standard memberships range from about $220 to $300 per month, depending on location.

In Buckhead, expect training facilities described as state-of-the-art, along with a full-service spa, personal coaching, Equinox food and beverage, and group fitness and Pilates classes.

“Atlanta has long been one of the most important markets on our growth roadmap, and Buckhead Village presented a unique opportunity to introduce the Equinox experience in a location that reflects the energy, sophistication, and lifestyle of the city,” Andy Subervi, Equinox’s head of development, said in today’s announcement. “We look forward to creating a flagship destination that sets a new standard for luxury fitness and wellness in Atlanta.”

Jamestown, the developer behind Ponce City Market and Westside Provisions District, bought the hobbling shopping hub in 2019 and focused on creating a commercial district with a focus on smaller brands and innovative restaurant concepts that didn’t shed its luxury moxie.

Other new additions to Buckhead Village are set to include JONES ROAD, a beauty brand from entrepreneur Bobbi Brown, scheduled to open this year, alongside fashion boutique Jeffrey, which is projected to open in August.

Recent openings include: Anthropologie’s second-ever standalone Maeve store; Great Many, a non-surgical hair growth studio; London-based luxury womenswear brand ME+EM; New York-based lifestyle brand Hill House Home; French furniture designer Roche Bobois; and New York City-based LoveShackFancy.
