Next time you're telling out-of-town friends how Atlanta is changing, blowing up, or just isn't what it used to be (for better or worse), you can use this photo essay as Exhibit A to drive that point home. 

We've teamed up with our pals at Build_Atlanta (follow their aerial work on Instagram right here) to compile an expansive update on major Atlanta developments from a drone's perspective, ranging from the historic streets of downtown to the tree-canopied upper reaches of Buckhead.  

It's a remarkable amount of recent construction activity to take in—but only a fraction of what's proposed, in permitting, or finishing on a smaller scale across the city. Please fasten your safety belts and enjoy the flight:

BUCKHEAD 

We begin in the northern reaches of Buckhead's business district, where Mill Creek Residential's multifaceted Modera Prominence project has transformed the intersection of Lenox and Piedmont Roads, near Ga. Highway 400:

Atlanta's tallest project underway at the moment, at least in terms of stories, is the world’s first ground-up Signia by Hilton hotel, a 40-story glassy addition to the western edge of downtown, overlooking Mercedes-Benz Stadium:
