The trend of longstanding buildings being converted into Atlanta Beltline-fronting retail space continues in Virginia-Highland.

Business leaders send word today that Milk & Maple Coffeehouse is set to open Sunday, Nov. 1 in a converted 730 Ponce de Leon Place NE space, with a large patio a few steps from the Eastside Trail.

That’s just north of Ponce City Market and the vacant former longtime home of Paris on Ponce, a 1925 factory building damaged by fire seven years ago.

The Beltline-fronting coffeehouse concept will operate inside Chabad Intown, a Jewish education and events campus, next to Be Hot Animal Yoga. It’s being marketed as “the first fully kosher coffee shop on the Beltline” that’s “right in the heart of the Eastside Trail.”

Expect a variety of coffee, matcha, teas, salads, sandwiches, pastries, and Arden’s Garden smoothies—all certified by the Atlanta Kashruth Commission, the largest kosher certification agency in the Southeastern U.S., according to Milk & Maple reps.

Proprietors say nearly 200,000 walkers, runners, and cyclists pass by the Beltline location every month. The coffeehouse’s design aims to “be the kind of spot people return to again and again: for a morning coffee, an afternoon catch-up, or a reason to linger a little longer,” according to a media announcement.

Doors will officially open at 7 a.m. Nov. 1, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, family entertainment, and giveaways planned.
