Let’s step out of the regular coverage zone for an update on an Atlanta company we first reported on in early 2025, a tech success story born in South Downtown.
Atlanta-based security tech company Undaunted, which launched with pre-seed funding from South Downtown owners and developers Atlanta Ventures, recently signed on local developer and property owner Columbia Residential as a client. Undaunted’s dog-like, robotic security guards will soon be patrolling four Columbia properties, on the prowl for would-be crooks.
At one of those properties, according to Undaunted cofounder and CEO Bryan Dinner, individuals were recently spotted trying to break into vehicles on the property, succeeding in entering at least one sedan.
First to respond was a robot security guard nicknamed “Oppy.”
Oppy tracked the alleged thieves and provided live updates to responding Atlanta Police Department officers. When police arrived, according to Dinner, Oppy led to them to where the suspects were attempting to hide, in the apartment complex’s compactor area.
Both suspects were quickly arrested, and Undaunted officials are calling the takedown an example of the future of security in action. (A blow-by-blow video account of the incident can be found here.)
Dinner tells Urbanize Atlanta his company has experienced rapid growth since launch in January last year. An early investor (and customer) is entrepreneur and South Downtown project leader David Cummings, who envisions the historic blocks south of Five Points and east of Centennial Yards springing to life as a world-class tech hub.
“We’re about to cross the 90-robot-deployed threshold and are already the largest robotic security fleet in the country, despite only operating in Atlanta,” Dinner recently relayed. “Robotic security has really caught on here in Atlanta.”

Undaunted’s roster of clients today includes Atlanta Public Schools (a pilot program), Balfour Residential (eight properties), Stryant (three properties), Selig, Perennial Properties, Stafford Properties, Infinity, No Mas Cantina, GE Lofts, and Hotel Indigo—Airport, among others, according to Dinner.
Undaunted’s robotic tech differentiates itself by being proactive and not reactive to security situations, using fleets of human-controlled robots to alert off-site monitoring teams and mitigate situations such as theft and trespassing, Dinner has said.
As for costs, two robotic guards will set a property owner or developer back $3,000 per month, with around-the-clock access to a monitoring center. An upgraded package costs $6,000 monthly.
Reads the company tagline: “Anything your human guards can do, our complete robot guarding system can do better.”
