The stretch of Monroe Drive that swoops down Piedmont Park’s eastern edge is no stranger to modern-home design, but a four-level project coming together on the corridor now could make an architectural statement like no other.

Comingled with century-old brick bungalows and designs by the likes of Dencity, the four-level domicile at 1446 Monroe Drive is described as a “modern sanctuary” that nods to the past, but with “the contemporary flavor of 2021.”

The Morningside property, designed by boutique builder GoodHaus, is located directly on the northernmost section of Piedmont Park near Atlanta Botanical Garden and Orpheus Brewing. It listed a couple months ago at $1,499,000.

That buys five bedrooms and four bathrooms in just shy of 3,600 square feet—highlighted by a 500-square-foot outdoor hangout off the back with a gas fireplace and infrastructure for a hot tub. Up top, a smaller roof terrace counts views across the park to Atlanta’s skyline.

Elsewhere, the elevator shaft has no elevator, but in a trend we’ve seen elsewhere recently, closets have been installed for now where the lift could be.
