CITYWIDE—The first e-bike rebate program in Georgia is making a comeback—but Atlantans interested in applying need to act fast.
Following Atlanta City Council’s approval of $1 million in funding, the second Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Program opened its applications portal this week.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 22—or a week from Tuesday.
This round of funding is expected to cut down on the purchasing cost of more than 400 e-bikes. Two years ago, the first e-bike rebate initiative saw about 2 percent of Atlanta’s total population apply, with about 1,000 Atlantans scoring rebates. (By our math, the average rebate recipient in Atlanta’s inaugural program received more than $1,700.)

The Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Program is administered by the Atlanta Regional Commission in partnership with Propel ATL and the city.
Eight months after the first rebate program started, recipients reported they were opting for two wheels more often than four, reducing car trips to school or work by about 40 percent, according to an ARC survey. Nearly three quarters of them—74 percent—reported riding their new e-bikes at least two days per week.

MIDTOWN—More intown coworking options are bound for a landmark Midtown building.
Venture X—a company self-described as a “leading provider of upscale coworking spaces with a professional atmosphere”—has leased 22,218 square feet of the Regions Plaza tower at 1180 W. Peachtree St. NW. That’s the entire third floor.
The coworking concept, which will be operated by husband-wife owners Kevin and Giedre Priddy of Priddy Spaces, calls for 70 private offices, eight dedicated desks, and three meeting rooms, including training and meeting capabilities for groups of up to 24 people. The new location is under construction, with completion targeted for mid-December.

As franchise operators, the Priddys currently own and operate 11 Venture X and Office Evolution locations across South and Central Florida, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and now metro Atlanta, with nine more in development, according to Venture X reps.
Regions Plaza stands 24 stories with roughly 500,000 square feet total. The location, as coworking reps note, is about a two-minute walk from MARTA’s Arts Center station.

DOWNTOWN—It’s been nearly two months since the last of Atlanta’s FIFA World Cup 2026 crowds came and went, and the streets of South Downtown continue to fill out with new businesses, office spaces, and loft apartments.

Meanwhile, we checked with South Downtown officials to see how leasing at the district’s first apartment building—85 Peachtree, a conversion of Atlanta’s original department store from the late 1800s—is going. As of Wednesday, the 26-unit building is 23 percent leased with tours ongoing, according to Jon Birdsong, a partner with Atlanta Ventures.

CITYWIDE—One of Atlanta’s most innovative urban design firms has launched a tool that aims to help planners and developers swiftly determine what can viably be built where.
Kronberg Urbanists + Architects’ new open-access Housing Attainability Estimator is designed to “allow development professionals and planners to quickly assess and compare development costs relative to policy limitations with locally relevant income benchmarks,” according to an announcement this week.
The estimator is part of KUA’s broader goal to increase housing choices “realistically and holistically,” but company heads caution that users must still complete their own site planning.
“This is a tool for early conversations,” Eric Kronberg, KUA principal, said in the announcement. “You can use the tool to compare initial feasibility of different unit mixes, and it is particularly useful for illustrating how policy limitations can affect home costs.”
