America’s largest homebuilder has recently reached a construction milestone with a project that's continuing a years-long residential development surge in and around downtown Hapeville.

Texas-based D.R. Horton has now brought to market four-bedroom townhome options at its growing The Townes at Asbury community, situated between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Hapeville’s historic and artsy commercial core.

According to listing services, more than 30 townhomes at the community have sold to date.

When D.R. Horton purchased the 8.3 acres in question in 2022—where a large mixed-use hub called “Asbury Park” had been planned two decades prior—company officials said the goal was to eventually build about 110 new townhomes in Hapeville.

Current townhome listings start at $399,500 (plus $195 monthly HOA fees). That buys four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 1,798 square feet with a floorplan called Emerson.

The priciest offering to date, an end-unit that’s currently under contract, includes more square footage (2,126 square feet) but one fewer bedroom, though all bedrooms offered with that model are en-suite.

All townhome options stand three stories, with a two-car garage included.

The earliest closings at The Townes at Asbury began back in the summer of 2024 and have climbed to as high as $493,500, records indicate.

According to marketing materials, the location is walkable to Delta Air Lines' headquarters and less than 10 minutes to the airport by car.

D.R. Horton has ranked as America’s largest homebuilder by volume since 2002. The company’s other current projects in ITP Atlanta include Benteen Reserve near the Beltline’s Southside Trail and a Westside build called Townes at Monroe
