A mixed-use infill project that aims to give Georgia Tech students a more boutique living option is approaching a construction milestone.
Student housing complex 740 Techwood plans to start pre-leasing its 55 furnished apartments (95 beds total) in late summer this year, well in advance of project completion, according to developer CCI Real Estate.
As illustrated in fresh renderings, the five-story, 64,000-square-foot project claimed a half-acre site less than a block from Bobby Dodd Stadium at Georgia Tech’s East Campus. The site was formerly the longtime home of Baptist College Ministries.
The first move-ins at 740 Techwood are scheduled for fall 2027. Expect floorplans ranging from studio to two-bedroom options, all leaning toward “a roommate-centric environment,” per developers.
Rents have yet to be specified.

The project is moving forward in partnership with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, which has had a presence on Tech’s campus for 75 years. It broke ground in summer last year, with True North Companies as general contractor.
CCI Real Estate officials relayed today that 740 Techwood will include an onsite location of Three Tree Coffee Roasters. Other perks of the pet-friendly building will include an outdoor courtyard, social gathering spaces, and “gorgeously designed” lounges and study rooms, per developers.
Elsewhere, the project will include an expanded ministry space to accommodate the ministry group.
Fully furnished units at 740 Techwood will include 55-inch mounted TVs, granite countertops, and full-size washers and dryers.
The project was “designed to give students the best of both worlds—a comfortable place to call home on the edge of campus and easy access to everything happening in Atlanta,” Jeff Warwick, CEO of CCI Real Estate, said in a project update today.
CCI is also redeveloping the Baptist College Ministry buildings at both the University of Georgia in Athens and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with similar mixed uses.

Down the street, Georgia Tech athletics kicked off a $500-million fundraising campaign in 2024 to produce upgraded facilities for Ramblin’ Wreck football fans, along with basketball and volleyball players. As part of those efforts, Bobby Dodd Stadium’s transformation is set to include a massive videoboard at the south end, new clubs and a speakeasy, along with an array of deluxe suites.
Meanwhile, the stadium’s Fanning Center expansion officially finished construction last month.
Near the western fringes of campus, Tech’s first new on-campus residence hall in 50 years is coming together, with nearly 900 new beds for first-year Yellow Jackets scheduled to open in August for fall semester.
