A controversial push to add a separate, so-called “wheels and heels” lane beside today’s Atlanta Beltline is on ice for now, but another Beltline-adjacent concept is most definitely en route.
In coming weeks, the creators of Westside Motor Lounge in English Avenue will open a large-scale, pop-up concept called LikeMinds in the massive former BrewDog space at The Krog District.
The announcement comes two months after the international brewery chain’s sudden closure, and LikeMinds will incorporate uses readers on these pages had asked for: live music, bar games, and oodles of booze.
But LikeMinds won’t be around forever. Its 120-day run is expected to start in late spring—in time for 2026 FIFA World Cup festivities—and conclude sometime in September. The “lightning in a bottle” stint is meant to create a summer-destination experience Atlantans feel like they can’t miss, per officials.
Adjacent to the Beltline’s ever-popular Eastside Trail, LikeMinds will claim the full multifaceted, 14,700-square-foot space (that includes 2,700 square feet of patios) vacated by BrewDog.
The new concept is led by Kelly Campbell of Westside Motor Lounge, with contributions from Southern Culinary & Creative, Smith’s Olde Bar, Frazie’s Meat & Market, Bunker Design, and other Atlanta-based partners. It’ll be open seven days a week.
On the music front, expect a program developed by Beau Nolen of Smith’s Olde Bar that includes regular live music, guest DJs, and a “curated vinyl program,” per a concept announcement Tuesday.
Complementing that will be billiards and bar games, alongside an upgraded audio-visual setup for watching sports.
In terms of food and drink, LikeMinds’ menu is being put together by Julian Hower of Smith’s and Mark Frazie of Frazie’s Meat and Market (a butcher shop in Riverside), with a focus on gourmet sandwiches the business is known for, plus sharables, and more.
Weekend plans call for a brunch program from Hower (inspired by his Pho Cue concept) alongside brunch-y drinks from Westside Motor Lounge’s Dana Roberts.
The LikeMinds’ bar program otherwise calls for beer, wine, THC beverages, alcohol-free options, and both craft and draft cocktails.
Officials with 26th Street Partners, the owners of Krog District, said in Tuesday's announcement the LikeMinds pop-up “aligns with our vision of creating an engaging, community-driven destination while shining a light on Atlanta businesses and brands, and we’re excited to have them on board for the summer.”
Sound like a winner—for now?
