Metro Atlanta’s latest open-container district is getting a facelift.
Global real estate firm Jamestown, best known in Atlanta as Ponce City Market’s developer, has kicked off a property-wide refresh of mixed-use hub Inman Quarter, alongside multifamily partners TriBridge Residential.
Developed 11 years ago by JPX Works and later sold, Inman Quarter is situated a block from the Beltline’s consistently popular Eastside Trail. Jamestown acquired a minority interest in Inman Quarter—home to MF Sushi, Beetlecat, Little Spirit, and Vinoteca, among other establishments—in March.
Part of the enhancements include Inman Quarter’s recent designation as an open-container district. That means guests can take to-go alcoholic beverages between participating restaurants onsite.
Other Inman Quarter updates will aim to “elevate the overall experience” while making it easier to explore the property, according to a project announcement today.
Changes to public spaces will see “significant improvements” for Inman Quarter’s centralized courtyard in particular, according to Jamestown and company, including:
- An Inman Quarter water feature that was once a point of pride for the property’s original developers has been decommissioned. It will be replaced with an elevated deck to be used as a multi-use, flexible space for a variety of small-scale programming, per the property owners.
- Sculptural bench installations will provide more seating, and power will be implemented in new places to support pop-up activations.
- A new mural described as large-scale is bound for the courtyard.
- Fresh landscaping is planned throughout the development.
- Improved bicycle amenities and public seating will be another focus, along with refreshed wayfinding, branding, and better tree lighting along North Highland Avenue.
Meanwhile, Inman Quarter’s 200 apartments have seen a “rooftop refresh” completed, while interior enhancements including updated wayfinding, fresh paint, and improvements to elevator vestibules are underway, according to Jamestown and TriBridge Residential.
All businesses will remain open during construction, which is being phased to cut back on disruptions. The project is scheduled to be finished sometime this spring.
“Inman Quarter is an important part of Inman Park,” Miller Radford, Jamestown’s senior vice president of asset management, said in today’s announcement. “[O]ur approach to this refresh is consistent with our broader investment philosophy–making thoughtful, targeted improvements that enhance how people experience a place while respecting the character of the surrounding community.”
Beyond Ponce City Market, Jamestown’s Atlanta portfolio includes Colony Square, Westside Provisions District, and Buckhead Village. Company officials have said Inman Quarter brings in about 500,000 visitors each year.
TriBridge operates more than 6,000 multifamily units across the Southeast, including the firm’s most recent development at arts district The Goat Farm.
