Welcome to the inaugural Urbanize Atlanta (Sub)urban Smackdown tournament, a fun year-end means of determining the greatest place in all of metro Atlanta!
In the past, we’ve hosted Best Atlanta Neighborhood tourneys, and others specifically catered to OTP (that’s “Outside The Perimeter,” for ATL neophytes.) Now it’s time to expand—and settle that age-old ITP vs. OTP debate once and for all!
Without further ado, let’s meet the 2025 field of potential champions …
Here’s how this works:
- We’ve listed in alphabetical order 32 of the most populous and internet-searched places in suburban Atlanta. Ditto for 32 of Atlanta’s most historic, popular, and interesting neighborhoods. (Sorry for omissions, y’all; there’s simply too many great places around here to include them all.)
- Please cast a vote for whichever city, neighborhood, or master-planned development you think is the best right now, whatever that means to you.
- The top vote-getter in each pairing will move on to the next round. (In the event of a tie, the competitor that comes first in alphabetical order will advance.)
- Voting in this first round of the Metro Atlanta Big Dance will close Tuesday at 5 p.m. sharp!
