Come next spring, a multifaceted Italian restaurant concept expects to say “Ciao!” to Eastside Trail patrons at one of the Beltline’s more eye-catching new developments.
Portman officials today revealed the next concept from restaurateurs Pietro Gianni and Stephen Peterson is the first retail tenant signed at Junction Krog District, a mixed-use hub finishing construction where Old Fourth Ward meets Inman Park, across the BeltLine from Krog Street Market.
According to Portman, YEPPA&co will set the tone for future retail and restaurants at the Class A office building, which counts 9,000 square feet of commercial space at its base.
Like its sister restaurant of the same name in Jamestown’s Buckhead Village, YEPPA&co is described as “a bar-centric, hospitality-driven Italian concept focused on interpersonal connection, food, wine, and cocktails, many from Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region.”
Gianni and Peterson also operate Italian restaurants Storico Fresco and Forza Storico, along with the forthcoming Pachengo’s, a taqueria in Buckhead Village.
At Junction Krog District, expect the restaurant to include a central bar area and outdoor social zone meant to enliven the building’s ground level. That patio will include an additional bar and spritz bar, according to Portman Officials.
Expect lunch and dinner seven days a week and a menu heavy on paninis, focaccia pizza, and regional pastas.
YEPPA&co is scheduled to open at Junction Krog District in March next year.
Portman says the building is now expected to be finished in August, replete with a public porch component that spans 7,000 square feet.
Just north of the project, Portman recently closed on 1.3 acres beside the Eastside Trail where Junction Krog District’s second phase is planned to be built, potentially beginning next summer.
Dotan Zuckerman, Portman’s head of retail and activation, said in today’s announcement YEPPA&co “perfectly aligns with our community-centered focus” and the company's goals to attract “quality restaurant concepts that encourage outdoor entertainment and activate the lively street-level experience of Atlanta’s BeltLine.”
