A distinctively modern townhome project is taking shape in Grant Park as construction barrels ahead on the BeltLine’s next Southside Trail segment nearby.
The first phase of the C4 Developers venture, now christened Twelve on Berne, has replaced three standalone houses on a corner site at 816 Berne Street, located about a block west of the BeltLine near the junction of Grant Park and Ormewood Park. The Warren Boys & Girls Club is directly across the street, to the west.
Sharing that same block is a 194-apartment project called Argos that Avila Development is finishing along the Southside Trail corridor now.
Stephen Eichelberger, C4 Developers managing partner, tells Urbanize Atlanta the first six townhomes are expected to be completed in September or October. A second phase with six more units tucked back from Berne Street should break ground soon, Eichelberger said.
Each townhome will stand four stories, from one and two-car garages at the base level to rooftop decks with attached flex spaces. Expect three or four bedrooms and three and ½ bathrooms in square footages that range between roughly 2,350 and 2,600 square feet.
Eichelberger said prices are expected to start in the high $800,000s and climb to the $1 million range.
Elsewhere intown, C4 Developers built the Farmhouses at Ormewood community nearby and is currently developing The Leon on Ponce condos in Old Fourth Ward.
“This was one of our projects that was on the back burner for a while, and we just kind of decided to push it through,” Eichelberger said of the Grant Park townhouses. “These things will have a pretty cool interior, all the modern bells and whistles.”
Atlanta-based construction firm Level Craft is building the townhomes.
