The site plan isn’t likely to charm devout ITP urbanists, but another Hapeville project is moving forward that expects to claim blighted, formerly industrial land and generate hundreds of local jobs.
Located at 400 Porsche Avenue, on a site that’s been vacant for well over a decade, the 135,000-square-foot, Class A office building will serve as headquarters for Atlanta Postal Credit Union and Center Parc Credit Union, officials tell Urbanize Atlanta.
Expect five stories of offices, a full-service retail branch, and a sizable conference center that can pull double-duty as a community events center. A large patio and open-air rooftop space are also in the works, according to project renderings.
The site is located just west of Interstate 75, a few blocks from Hapeville’s walkable commercial core.

Project officials and Hapeville city leaders recently gathered on site to officially break ground and celebrate what’s been called the south ITP city’s “rebirth,” with numerous projects both residential and commercial popping up in blocks surrounding the historic downtown.
The credit union headquarters will rise on acreage formerly occupied by Ford Atlanta Assembly plant, which served as the lifeblood of Hapeville and surrounding communities for decades. The plant was shuttered in 2006 and fully demolished three years later, leaving a gash along one of downtown Hapeville’s main road corridors.

The new office building will overlook Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s north runway. It’s expected to bring roughly 300 more jobs to the area.
According to the recent groundbreaking ceremony, the building is scheduled to deliver in 2025.
