As always, Buckhead remains a study in extremes.
At one end of the real estate spectrum, it’s home to the priciest listing across all of metro Atlanta, an $11.9-million penthouse atop the Waldorf Astoria Buckhead Residences.
At the other, Buckhead offers what we’ll venture to call the city’s most attractive condo option at the moment priced at $125,000 or less. It comes with city views, quite literally, for miles—a feature Atlanta buyers might not expect in the low $100,000s anymore. But that’s not to say compromises wouldn’t be required.
Listed this week, the $125,000 studio is found on a high floor at the 18-story Park Lane condominium tower.
The 1967 building is an early example of high-rise residential in Buckhead, standing where Peachtree Road meets Lindbergh Drive. It’s long been a haven for first-time homebuyers, or buyers seeking downsized living quarters and pied-à-terre options.
With its 505 square feet and single bathroom, Unit 1511 is the least expensive studio in the building without a pending contract.
“It’s great for ‘micro living,”’ says Diana Sauvigne', a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties agent who holds the listing.
It’s marketed as an updated and “beautiful studio” in “the heart of affluent Buckhead,” with a view of the submarket’s tallest buildings that “twinkles at night.” Even shoestring buyers might feel the urge to update, though the condo has been upgraded with hardwoods, and the bathroom and kitchen feature granite.
Other perks include a walk-in closet with space for a pint-sized studio, plus communal amenities that include a gym, game room, and pool with grills. The commendable 81 WalkScore takes into account nearby shops and restaurants, as well as Buckhead’s serene Duck Pond.
