A multidimensional market concept commonly found in cities like San Francisco and New York is joining the mix of a billion-dollar development explosion along Howell Mill Road in Home Park.
The latest Savi Provisions Market—a gourmet concept that’s caught fire intown over the past decade—will occupy an airy, two-story space at the recently completed Star Metals Residences building, according to renderings provided to Urbanize Atlanta.
The West Midtown location will focus heavily on grocery offerings and prepared high-end foods. It’ll also serve beer and wine for consumption on and off-site, with seating installed at an elevated section upstairs.
Founded in 2009 in Inman Park, Savi now operates 10 locations from Brookhaven to Decatur and an outpost at The Battery in Cobb County expected to open soon, along with another out-of-state venture in Nashville. A third Buckhead-area location recently opened at AMLI Residential’s mixed-use district near Lenox Square.
That market, like the one at Star Metals, was opened as a franchise by twin brothers Vivek and Vinay Patel.
Allen Morris, CEO and chairman of Star Metals developer The Allen Morris Company, called Savi the “the perfect nostalgic purveyor to the West Midtown area” in an announcement.
“This market brings locally sourced gourmet and organic foods, fine wines and spirits to a dynamic community at value price points and in the most vitalizing location in Atlanta today,” Morris added.
Savi at Star Metals Residences is expected to open this fall.
The 409-apartment building is the residential component of the broader, $344-million Star Metals District, which includes a 267,000-square-foot office building with 30,000 square feet of retail and showroom space across the street.
A 176-key hotel is also planned, with a revised design, just south of the office building along Howell Mill Road.
