Atlanta penthouse shoppers in the market for buildings with less glass and more classical leanings could find much to admire in the high-rise heart of Buckhead.
That’s where 40-story condo tower The Paramount opened in 2004, positioned back then for easy walkability to MARTA's Buckhead station and Phipps Plaza—and today, the multi-use PATH400 trail.
Much of the 302-unit building has been updated, and that certainly applies to a recently listed, two-story penthouse that’s being marketed as “exquisite,” with “million-dollar views” in several directions.
Asking $1.7 million, Unit 3902 spans more than 4,400 square feet, with four bedrooms, four and ½ bathrooms, and windows that frame a different section of Atlanta from basically every room. Only a few vestiges of the mid-aughts (hello, glass blocks) remain.
Highlights include a two-story living room (connected to a less formal, cozier living room), sizable balconies, the updated gourmet kitchen, and yes that onyx, alligator-skin tiling in a secondary bathroom.
In terms of building trivia, The Paramount was erected in only nine months—at the time, the tallest residential structure ever built using a process called tunnelform concrete construction, according atlantaSKYrise. Units in the tower as small as 725 square feet have sold for the low $200,000s.
The penthouse in question has been on and off the market since early 2020, and the latest price breakdown, as listed this week, is $385 per square foot.
HOA fees, it should be noted, are a considerable $2,300 monthly. That does grant access to amenities that include around-the-clock concierge, a heated pool, tennis court, two gyms, a community herb garden, coffee bar, and both indoor and outdoor theaters. The building, as the listing notes, is also “super pet-friendly.”
