Joining about a dozen other Buckhead condos priced north of $3 million at the moment, this sprawling unit at the recognizable Park Place on Peachtree building isn’t bashful about luxe design choices and statement interior décor.
The 40-story building, constructed in 1987 with roughly 250 condos, has long been a magnet for business executives and celebrities. Most notably, Elton John owns two units fused into an elegant duplex on the 36th floor. “I feel very relaxed there,” the musician once told Architectural Digest.
In keeping with that theme, the unit in question, 24CD, is owned by “a successful entrepreneur, movie producer, and obviously an avid art collector,” as Jolynne Szymanski, a Realtor with Harry Norman Realtors, tells Urbanize Atlanta. (Szymanski didn’t name the seller, but clues in the décor and recent online news coverage make it fairly easy to figure out.)
Spanning more than 4,200 square feet, the three-bedroom, three and ½-bathroom condo is a showplace of bold artwork and postmodern panache, described in marketing materials as an “exquisite” and customized “architectural masterpiece” chockfull of materials from around the world. Views from a multitude of windows span from Peachtree Road to the North Georgia Mountains.
With its bounty of metallic tray ceilings, views, and spacious rooms, this condo is often requested for use in film projects, per the listing.
It listed December 13 at $3,699,000, where it remains.
Another consideration is the monthly HOA fee of $2,290, which alone would rent a pretty slick apartment in most parts of town.
Beyond the home, perks include valet, gated underground parking, a heated pool, sauna, wine cellar, and proximity to attractions like Bobby Jones Golf Course, Buckhead Village, and all of Midtown.
The building’s 1980s common areas recently underwent a multi-million-dollar revival (echoing the spirit, in a way, of this condo) as one would expect for entertainment and business bigwigs. Head to the gallery for a closer look.
